Touring

Touring asks more of your gear than a commute does. You're in the saddle for hours, you'll probably ride through sun and rain on the same day, and small annoyances get bigger with every hour, like a noisy helmet or a backpack strap digging in. So we've built this range around comfort, weather, and carrying your stuff, without dropping the certification.Every touring helmet here is certified to ECE 22.06. Modular helmets like the Nolan N90-3 (flip up), the Nolan N120-1 (flip back), and the Acerbis Serel let you lift the chin bar at the toll, the R&R, or the petrol pump. Full face options like the HJC C71 and Shark Spartan GT Pro Carbon are usually quieter at highway speed.

For long days, we recommend a helmet with a drop down sun visor, so you're not squinting into the late afternoon sun on the way home. For the rest of your kit, the Acerbis Ramsey Vented Long jacket gives you a longer cut and mesh airflow. It's certified to CE EN 17092 Class AA, with CE EN 1621-1 Level 1 armour at the shoulders and elbows, and it takes the Acerbis D3O Viper Air back protector, certified to CE EN 1621-2 Level 2. Pack the Micropak 10K rain jacket and pants for the downpour, and add FIVE GT2 EVO WP+ waterproof gloves and Sidi Nucleus GTX riding shoes. Then get the weight off your back with a Kriega Rollpack 20 tail pack or US-10 Drypack. Build your touring kit in the range above.

Q: Modular or full face for touring? A: Both work. A modular helmet is handy at tolls, R&Rs, and petrol stops because you can talk and drink without taking it off. A full face is usually quieter and lighter at speed. Either way, every touring helmet we sell is certified to ECE 22.06.

Q: What's the best way to carry luggage on a long ride? A: We recommend getting the weight off your back and onto the bike. A tail pack like the Kriega Rollpack 20 straps to the pillion seat or rear rack, and the Kriega Tank US-Drypack Converter turns a US Drypack into a tank bag. Keep a backpack for the essentials.
