Which glove certification matters?

CE EN 13594, rated CE Level 1 or Level 2 for abrasion and impact. Look for knuckle armour and palm sliders, the two spots that take the punishment in a low-side off.

How should motorcycle gloves fit?

Snug, not tight. Too loose and the material bunches and affects your control, too tight and you lose feel on the controls. Our glove size chart will help you get the correct size.

Short cuff or gauntlet?

Short cuff for easy, cool commuting, gauntlet cuff when you want full wrist coverage at speed.Putting your hands out is not a conscious decision. You cannot train it away, which is why gloves matter far more than you may think. The gloves we stock are certified to CE EN 13594, the standard for motorcycle gloves, and rated Level 1 or Level 2 for abrasion and impact. Look for knuckle armour and palm sliders. Those are the two spots that take the punishment in a low-side off. The gloves here include Five, a French maker that does gloves and nothing else, which is the sort of focus you want on the one piece of kit between your hands and the tarmac.

Gloves that are comfy in the heat are what keep them on your hands. Summer and mesh gloves let air run over your knuckles in 33-degree commuting. Full-grain leather leads on abrasion resistance for sport and touring. Waterproof pairs help you hold your grip and your feel through a monsoon shower, and touchscreen fingertips mean you are not peeling them off at every stop to adjust your Waze route.

Fit is important with gloves. Too loose and the material bunches and affects your control. Too tight and you lose feel on the controls. Use our glove size chart to measure your hand before you buy. Then pick a short cuff for easy cool commuting, or a gauntlet cuff when you want full wrist coverage at speed.
