Motorcycle Helmets

A helmet is the difference between a bad day and one that changes everything. So it pays to know what you are actually buying. Every helmet here is certified to ECE 22.06, the current European standard. It tests rotational impact, not just the straight-on hit, and each one carries SIRIM approval so you are legal on the road.

Start with the type. Full-face gives you the most coverage and the quietest ride, which is why it wins for the highway and the Sunday run up Genting. Modular helmets flip open at the toll booth and the lights, handy when you want a breather. Open-face keeps things airy for short trips around town, though you give up chin protection to get there. Fit matters just as much as the shell. Most riders here have a rounder head shape, and brands built with an Asian fit in mind tend to sit better at the temples. The brands we carry, Shark, Nolan, Nexx, and Acerbis, all come in through official channels, so the lid on your head is the real thing and not a counterfeit copy.

Then there is the heat. We pick helmets for ventilation that does something when you are stuck in KL traffic at 35 degrees, not only when you are doing 110 on the PLUS. Buying online? Measure first. Our sizing guide walks you through head circumference and shape in about a minute, and it heads off the single most common reason helmets get sent back.

Which helmet certification should I look for in Malaysia?

ECE 22.06 is the current European standard, and it tests rotational impact, not just the straight-on hit. SIRIM is the local certification and keeps you legal on the road here.

How do I know a helmet will fit my head shape?

Most riders here have a rounder head shape, so we favour brands built with an Asian fit. Measure your head circumference first. Our sizing guide takes about a minute.

Full-face, modular, or open-face?

Full-face for the highway and the Genting run, modular if you want to flip it open at the toll, open-face for airy short trips around town.
