HJC
HJC helmets have been built in Korea since 1971, and HJC became the best selling helmet brand in North America in 1992. Every HJC helmet we sell is certified to ECE 22.06, with vents that move air front to back in hot city traffic.
HJC started in Korea in October 1971 and built its name at home before taking its own brand to the United States in the 1980s. By December 1992 it had the biggest share of the North American helmet market. It opened its own R&D centre in 2002 and its own wind tunnel lab in 2007, so there's a lot of testing behind helmets that are worth every ringgit. We stock two HJC full face helmets. The C10 is the everyday one, with a polycarbonate composite shell, three intakes and two exhausts, a wide view through the visor, and a liner you can pull out and wash after a sweaty week of commuting. The C71 is built for longer rides. It adds a drop down sun visor and speaker pockets for an intercom, so you can hear your Waze directions on the PLUS. Both are certified to ECE 22.06 and are Pinlock 70 ready (insert sold separately) to stop the visor fogging up in a monsoon downpour. Compare sizes and colours in the range above.
Q: Is HJC a good helmet brand?
A: HJC has been making helmets since 1971 and became number one for helmet sales in North America in 1992. Every HJC helmet we sell is certified to ECE 22.06, the current European standard, which includes rotational impact testing.
Q: Which HJC helmet is best for commuting?
A: We recommend the C10. It's the simpler of the two, with three intakes and two exhausts for stop start traffic and a liner you can wash. If you also ride long highway days, the C71 adds a sun visor and speaker pockets.
