Full Face Helmets

Full face is the shape safety data keeps coming back to as being the most protective. It wraps the chin, the temples and the back of the skull in one shell, which is why it is the standard pick for highway speed and long days in the saddle.

Every helmet here is ECE 22.06 certified, the current European standard that tests rotational impact as well as the straight-on hit. ECE 22.06 is road legal for riding in Malaysia. The trade-off is heat, so we choose shells with vents that actually move air at low speed, not only at 110 on the PLUS, and a lining that manages sweat on the crawl through KL traffic. Compare shapes with modular and open-face above if you want a flip-up chin bar or a lighter, airier ride, or read the helmet buying guide for a fit and shape walk through.

Q: Why choose full-face over modular or open-face?
A: Full-face gives the most coverage and the quietest ride, which is why it wins on the highway and the Genting run. You give up the flip-open convenience modular offers at the toll booth.

Q: Will a full-face helmet be too hot for Malaysian traffic?
A: We pick shells with vents that keep working when you are stopped in KL traffic, not only at highway speed, so heat is manageable if you choose ventilation first.
