A casual jacket for heat, humidity and sudden rain
If you ride to work and then spend the day off the bike, a jacket that looks like motorcycle gear can feel out of place at the office or over lunch. The Gordon has a more casual look that blends in easily off the bike, and it is built for Malaysian riding, with a vented outer for heat and humidity and an included detachable, fully taped waterproof and breathable membrane for heavy rain that arrives with little warning.
The membrane can be worn inside the jacket or over it, so you can pull it on at the roadside without taking the jacket off. The Gordon is certified to EN 17092-4:2020 Class A and includes EN 1621-1:2012 Type A Level 2 shoulder and elbow armour, the higher of the two impact levels. Class A sits below Class AA in EN 17092, so the Gordon suits riders who put an everyday look, included rain protection and Level 2 armour ahead of a higher garment class.
We recommend adding the Acerbis D3O Viper Air FB Level 2 Back Protector, sold separately. It adds certified full back impact protection alongside the included shoulder and elbow armour.
Key features
- Casual styling: looks less like motorcycle gear, so it blends in easily off the bike
- Certified protection: EN 17092-4:2020 Class A garment
- Level 2 armour included: EN 1621-1:2012 Type A protectors at the shoulders and elbows
- Detachable waterproof membrane included: fully taped, waterproof and breathable
- Wear it inside or outside: the membrane can also go over the jacket for a quick roadside change
- Vented outer with mesh lining: lets air through the jacket on hot, humid days with the membrane removed
- Cuff and hem adjustment: help the jacket sit closer at the wrists and waist
- Five pockets: two outside, two inside and one on the membrane
- Reflective Acerbis logos: on the sleeve, front and back, and on the membrane

The Gordon is the Acerbis jacket to look at if you want a casual look that blends in off the bike, with a detachable waterproof membrane and Level 2 shoulder and elbow armour included in a Class A garment. Take a look at the Ramsey Vented 2.0 if you want a Class AA mesh jacket built around airflow, or the Ramsey Vented Long for the same Class AA rating in a longer touring cut.
Will the Gordon blend in off the bike?
Yes. It has a more casual look than a typical riding jacket, so it blends in easily at work or out with friends.
Is the waterproof membrane included?
Yes. The detachable, fully taped waterproof and breathable membrane is included and can be worn inside the jacket or over it.
What armour comes with the Gordon?
EN 1621-1:2012 Type A Level 2 shoulder and elbow armour is included. Level 2 is the higher of the two impact performance levels in EN 1621-1.
What is the difference between Class A and Class AA?
Both are EN 17092 garment classes for motorcycle clothing. Class AA has higher requirements for abrasion resistance, tear strength and seam strength than Class A. The Gordon is certified to EN 17092-4:2020 Class A, while the Ramsey jackets are certified to Class AA.
Is it comfortable in heat and humidity?
With the membrane removed, the vented outer and mesh lining let air move through the jacket. Add the membrane when rain is expected.
Can I add a back protector?
Yes. The Acerbis D3O Viper Air FB Level 2 Back Protector fits this jacket and is sold separately. We recommend adding it for certified full back impact protection alongside the included shoulder and elbow armour. Protector size M suits jacket sizes S, M and L, and size L suits jacket size XL.
What is the jacket made from?
The outer is 98% polyester and 2% elastane, with a 100% polyester mesh lining and a detachable, fully taped waterproof and breathable membrane.
